ACLogics provides robust support for offline work, allowing you to review histories, log steps, and record diagnostic notes directly at the job site—even in areas with zero cellular reception. This guide explains how offline mode works, what actions require internet, and how to ensure your changes sync.


1. Feature Availability: Offline vs. Online

While offline, the app utilizes your local device storage to cache and record information.

2. Understanding Sync and Offline Messages

When working without connection, the app will display specific status indicators to keep you informed of your data’s state:

  • “Offline Mode” – Your device is disconnected from cellular data or Wi-Fi, and the app is operating on local storage.
  • “Internet Required” – The target action cannot be executed without an active connection.
  • “Diagnosis Unavailable Offline” – The requested job history was not cached on this device prior to going offline.
  • “Job Not Fully Available Offline” – Only basic summary details are cached. Full step histories require connection.
  • “Offline Changes Not Synced” – Edits or notes are saved locally but have not yet been sent to the server.
  • “Syncing Local Changes…” – The app has re-established a connection and is uploading your offline edits to the cloud.

3. Best Practices for Offline Performance

To ensure you have full access to necessary histories while in the field, prepare your device before heading to offline locations:

  1. Pin Important Jobs: Tap the Pin icon on active jobs while online. This forces the app to fully download and cache the entire diagnostic history to your local storage.
  2. Pre-Load Recent Work: Open recently created diagnoses or reports while connected to Wi-Fi to ensure their details are fully cached.
  3. Keep the App Open: When returning online, keep ACLogics open for a few moments to allow background sync operations to finalize.

4. Troubleshooting Sync Failures

If your offline edits fail to sync upon returning to cellular or Wi-Fi range:

  • Account Check: Confirm you are signed in to the correct personal or organization account that owns the target job.
  • Network Status: Confirm you can successfully load pages in your mobile web browser.
  • Manual Refresh: Pull down on the history list to force a manual sync request.
